What is an "Emergency?"

The definition for what constitutes an "emergency" depends upon who you are, what your personal situation is, and how you perceive it.

If you are a newborn infant taking your first breath and then crying, that IS an emergency call for Mom, Dad and everyone caring for you.

Additionally, everyone in that room needs someone else's help and assistance.

Beautiful, positive events can be an emergency, too; emergencies are not all negative, but they do require immediate care.

Obviously, if a call to 911 is required, that is an emergency. What if you are the first person on the scene before the medical/EMS professionals arrive? What do you do in the interim? Or what if you are alone without a phone?

Each situation demands a different answer and not all emergencies require a call to 911.

Sometimes events that we perceive to be an emergency are, in fact, distorted ways of thinking. Change your perception and you will change your life.

I will give you tools to rise to challenge of wide and a variety of situations, ways to facilitate your care of another individual, and the knowledge you need to care for yourself: mind, body, and spirit.

Who is A First Responder?

The very first person to give care to another individual is a "first responder."

We are all "First Responders" because we take care of ourselves in addition to others, no matter what our profession.
